George Seibert
George Seibert was
born on February 2, 1908. He was the son of Lena (Svandrilik) and
Jacob Seibert of Yaphank. Before the war he was working for a
construction company as a carpenter. Seibert entered the Army on May
12, 1941 at Camp Upton, New York. He received his military training
at Camp Shelby, Mississippi. Trained as a Motor Boat Operator,
Carpenter and qualified with a rifle. He left the United States
aboard the USS Washington arriving at Bombay India, where he served
with the 75th Engineers, Light Pontoon Company. Seibert
was discharged from the Army on November30, 1945.
